KACHINA Puch Tihu doll by Wilson Tawakaptewa Hopi, Arizona, Southwestern United States of America circa 1950 Cottonwood, feathers and pigments H.: 18 cm She is standing with her hands on her abdomen. Her mask is flanked by two large tiered ears with long feathers at the tips. Her eyes are two painted black rectangles, her cheeks are marked with red and her mouth is tubular. Its pigmentation is predominantly black, white, yellow ochre and red. It rests on large feet. Provenance: Former Thery Atchevinsky collection.
