DAUT BERISHA (1946-2023) Female bust Polychrome wood composition 83 x 56 cm. Acquired directly from the painter by the current owner. An Albanian painter, he moved to Paris in 1973 after studying at the Belgrade Academy of Applied Arts under Professor Rajko Nikolic. He is one of the greatest contemporary Albanian painters to have lived in Paris in the period between the two centuries. A discreet artist, he has exhibited in prestigious galleries and shows in Paris, Nantes, Nancy, Los Angeles, Mexico and New York. The rich use of color in his high-relief works has seduced many: from singer Grace Jones, who exhibited his work in her restaurant La Vie en Rose in New York, to fashion designer Agnès B, with whom he has collaborated.
