Pierre LABADIE (1913 - 1973) - Lot 194
Pierre LABADIE (1913 - 1973) Fort in the Alps. Gouache and watercolor on paper signed lower right with AT. BIGOT lower right and stamped upper left 28 Oct 1936. Some folds at edges. 108 x 77.5 cm. Note: Pierre LABADIE (1913 - 1973) was a student of Paul Bigot, Eugène Beaudouin and Raymond Gravereaux at the Ecole des Beaux Arts from July 10, 1933 to June 1938. This poster project was probably the subject of a competition during his school years. The label remnants, which originally concealed the names of the student and the teacher, certainly corresponded to a desire to preserve the anonymity of the candidates. Paul BIGOT (1870 - 1942) is best known for building the Institute of Art and Archaeology on rue Michelet in Paris. He also specialized in the creation of commemorative monuments for the Great War.
