An important family of cabinetmakers who practiced for over a hundred years, from 1824 to 1930, the Jeanselme family founded a factory in 1824 to manufacture armchairs and chairs of all kinds. In 1847, they bought the stock of the prestigious Jacob firm. From then on, they manufactured furniture, and were among the main suppliers to the Garde-Meuble under Louis-Philippe and Napoleon III. The Jeanselme firm participated in industrial product exhibitions, as well as in the Exposition Universelle of 1851 and 1855.
