Kalamkari with mihrab design Polychrome pigments printed on cotton Indo-Persian, 19th century 106 x 77 cm The overall design of this kalamkari forms a mihrab, composed of a multitude of decorative registers (bouquets and mandorles, architecture, cypresses and birds, vases and botehs) around a central niche adorned with a sowing of flowers on a red background. It is topped by a calligraphic cartouche (praise to God). A frieze of botehs with flowery ends decorates the lower part. 106 x 77 cm
