- 216p. illustrated with 100 figs, 24 pl. Bound in early 20th-century brown half-chagrin, gilt-lettered head. Perfect condition Provenance: sent by the author to Lapatz. This work initiated the research that would lead Choisy to publish Histoire de l'architecture. It is characterized by the widespread use of axonometry, and by the idea of reducing Roman architecture to its structural dimension alone: two modernist biases that make Choisy one of the forerunners of twentieth-century architectural theory.
